Lay on your back. Bend your right knee and place your foot near your right hip (in line with your hip, not out to the side). Side bend your upper body to the right and hold your ankle with your right hand. If you can't reach your ankle, no problem. Stretch your left hand overhead as far as is comfortable. If reaching overhead doesn't work for you, reach out to the side or to a 45° angle. Soften at the fold of your left hip. Lengthen as much as you can through your left side. Again, do this at your comfort level, stretching should be pain free. Hold for at least 10 deep breaths, exhaling all the way out. Repeat on the other side. Do this every day. This is one you can even do in bed if getting up from or down to the floor is a challenge.<br />

My very favorite place for lunch in Salem is Venti's Cafe, owned by Dino and Leslie Venti who are two of my very favorite people in Salem. I am working my way through the menu and have several favorites. Today I had the Veggie Deluxe (brown rice, tons of veggies, pineapple, black beans etc). <br />
Another fav is their cajun rockfish tacos. and steak flatbread. and morrocan chicken. and pumpkin curry. and and <a href="http://ventiscafe.com/menu/">OK, here's the menu</a> that's eaiser since I have yet to eat anything there that isn't one my favorite list! PS and sweet potato fries. They have 2 locations, one in downtown at <em>325 Court St NE </em>and the new taphouse in South Salem at <em>2840 Commercial St SE</em><br />

Another favorite Salemite is Evelyn Dacker. I met Evelyn about ten years ago in Dan MeLeod's yoga class. She's an MD with the motto "Western Medicine with an Open Mind" She owns <a href="http://www.vidameanslife.com/">Vida Family Medicine</a> in South Salem. We have just started a new yoga class at the Vida Education Center (next door to the clininc) 1105 Liberty St. Class is Tuesday eveings at 6:30 and Saturdays at noon. Leslie Venti teaches a super fun Dynamic Flow class, mine is a bit mellower. These are All Levels classes, begginers are welcome! Please bring your own yoga props, class cost is by donation.<br />
